Sabalo Lodge Eco Policies

If you are interested in staying at a real Eco Lodge the first thing you should look for is their Eco Policies to be posted somewhere on their website. These policies show the lodge’s commitment to the concept of what a real Eco lodge is supposed to be all about. It also shows their commitment to minimizing their impact on the frail eco systems they are usually located in as well as their commitment to contribute to those eco systems and the local culture/community near their lodge.

Sustainable tourism is a concept where YOU the traveler are invited to participate in minimizing the impact on the environment while you visit destinations that are located within remote places such as protected areas, rainforests, beaches, etc. These policies should be designed to minimize impact on the environment, educate the traveler on best practices when traveling to these remote areas and allow them to contribute back to the environment and the local community/culture of these areas. This in turn will allow these areas to be enjoyed for generations to come.

The responsible traveler understands the changing conditions of the planet with global warming and population increases that continually challenge our availability to basic resources such as water and food. These same changing conditions are increasing the extinction of animals, birds, reptiles, insects, plants, trees, rainforests and many other living organisms of the planet.

We also hope to inspire our guests to take these principles home with them to see how they might apply to their own lives once they return home.
