Mel Gibson to move family to Costa Rica, ignores Government warnings of kidnapping
TransWorldNews

The United States government has warned Mel Gibson of possible kidnapping if he moves to an isolated area of Costa Rica, but the actor is ignoring the safety warnings and plans to move his wife and seven kids to an estate in the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica.

The government has warned Gibson that Americas are "potential targets for criminals and kidnappers" in the dangerous area. They also advise all Americans to never travel alone and say "Local law enforcement agencies have limited capabilities and do not operate according to U.S. standards."

Despite the warnings, Gibson is selling a home in California and a home in Connecticut to buy a $26 million ranch in an area of Costa Rica referred to as "bandit territory."
